Education Scholars Committee (ESC)
The Global Scholar Committee (GSC) is a key research pillar dedicated to addressing global educational challenges, under the auspices of the Asia-Pacific International Education Association (APESIA) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Its mission is to bring together preeminent scholars from diverse academic disciplines, jointly commit to in-depth research on critical issues of educational transformation in the Asia-Pacific region, advance regional academic research progress, and facilitate exchange and knowledge sharing among educational organizations across the Asia-Pacific.
Our committee members possess extensive research experience and exceptional academic attainments, covering a wide spectrum of disciplines including education, psychology, sociology, economics, and policy studies. They hold in-depth professional expertise and distinctive insights in all dimensions of educational research.
The Global Scholar Committee maintains a sharp focus on high-priority issues in the Asia-Pacific education sector, including but not limited to educational inequality, educational technology and innovation, educational policy and reform, and intercultural educational exchange. Through organizing academic symposiums, hosting thematic lectures, and publishing academic papers, we foster exchange and collaboration among members, and jointly explore effective approaches to addressing the challenges facing education in the Asia-Pacific region.
In addition, the Global Scholar Committee is committed to forging cooperative ties with other academic institutions and organizations in the Asia-Pacific region, advancing cross-border collaboration and exchange, expanding the boundaries of academic research, and promoting the sustainable development of the education sector.
